Apple has launched the thinnest smartphone ever with the Apple iPhone 5 being showcased, but launching something sleek and thin didn’t end here because they have come up with the thinnest iPod Touch too, with the iPod Touch 5th Gen being launched with a thickness of just 6.1mm. The iPod Touch is going to be almost as thin as the iPod nano, and as a good news for the youth, there are around 175,000 gaming and entertainment apps for the iPod Touch. The new iPod Touch is launched along with the iPod Nano 7G.

Apple this time has made something good for the iPod lovers, by keeping the screen size and type the same as in the iPhone 5, having a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with the same display as in the iPhone. Just like the iPhone, the video would be a widescreen one when played in the iPod Touch. Although the screen has been made better, Apple didn’t opt to upgrade the chip in the device and its still the A4 chip in the iPod Touch 5th gen. But surprisingly, the activity in the iPod Touch is going to be 7x faster than the previous versions of the iPod Touch.

The camera of the Apple iPod Touch 5th gen is a 5-megapixel iSight camera with the Panorama feature too available, and there would be an app now called the iPhoto for the iPod, which was just available for the iPhone earlier. The camera can capture videos at 1080p HD quality, and the connectivity has been improved to make it a dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n just like what you see in the new iPhone. There is Siri included in the new Touch. The battery in the iPod Touch can produce around 40 hours of music and 8 hours of video.

The Apple iPod Touch 5G is going to be available in 5 colors, and there is a loop button hidden on the back side, which can pop out and one could hang a strap from there.
The headphones that Apple has been designing since 3 years, are finally out. They are called the Earpods and they would be better in both – comfort and audio quality.

The new iPod Touch 5G 32GB version would be available for $299 and it would be available in October 2012.
